NewSpace: Lekha Wireless, Newspace Launch 4G, 5G-Enabled Uncrewed Aerial Systems

NEW DELHI: Homegrown 4G and 5G Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) gear maker Lekha Wireless and NewSpace Research and Technologies have launched uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) that can connect to private networks.

The companies will provide surveillance aircraft systems, providing seamless transfer of live mobile video, control, and telemetry data over fifth-generation (5G) and 4G networks, according to a joint statement on Wednesday.

The technology, according to the companies, is valuable for defense, security, energy, ports, mines, and other sectors, enhancing day-to-day operations, safety, and surveillance.
